All Decked Out - Part 4: Deck-athalon

Raise your hands if you too are loving these deck puns!

Fresh off finishing out 2012 by de-boarding the deck, we decided it was time to put it back together. We were able to get full 16' nice lookin' treated pine boards delivered right to the house from a local lumber yard and after purchasing 10 pounds of the world's most expensive screws (Grip Rite PrimeGuard Plus 2.5" star drive), we were set.

I hate for those reading our blog to think that I'm doing all the work, so I snagged the camera myself this time around and got some pictures of the elusive Jessie. Here she is screwing down the inaugural board and after we emptied our first 5lb box of screws. Installing new boards was quick work and took only a fraction of the time required to pull up the old boards and nails. And by all accounts was a far better plan than leaving and sanding all the old boards.

And then in not much more than a half a day, all the boards were back.

Now we wait for them to season.
